As a general rule, low-risk workplaces, such as retail, educational institutions, and offices, require one fully-equipped first aid kit for every 50 to 100 employees. For every 50 employees, one on-site first-aider should be trained and appointed to handle first aid emergencies.
High-risk workplaces, such as remote industrial sites, manufacturing, and construction, require one first aid kit for every 10 to 25 employees. A first-aid responder should be made available for every ten to twenty-five employees. Workplaces with a high risk of chemical burns and poisoning may also require additional injury-specific kits to complement the main first aid kit.
